On June 6th 2004 we again rode with over forty motorcycles from a variety of manufacturers to remember a friend and enjoy a ride together.
The family of John Petty would like to express their sincere appreciation to everyone who participated and helped make this ride a good memory.

On January 26th 2003 John Petty, the first President and principal
founder of the NSC, was lost in a motorcycle accident. John had been riding for almost 20 years when he started the
NSC and his first ride with the NSC was the first Sunday in June
2002.
| The Ride |
All riders, family and friends are welcome and you need not ride a motorcycle to participate. Please feel free to join us in your car, enjoy the scenery and have a burger at the In-n-Out.
- Meet at the Reno/Sparks Starbucks (map) at 2835 N McCarren (South West corner of McCarren & Pyramid) before 9AM
- Depart at 9AM.
- West on I-80 to SR-89, then North towards Sierraville.
- Stop in Sierraville for a break from 10-10:30AM
- Sierraville is 60 miles from Reno and we will arrive there at appx: 10AM
- We will arrive at the junction of I-80 and SR-49 at around 9:40AM for those interested in joining the ride from there.
- SR-89 North to Sattley, then SR-49 West to Downieville
- Stop in Downieville for a break.(11:20-11:50AM)
- Downieville is 35 miles from Sierraville and we will arrive there at appx: 11:20AM
- Continue on the SR-49 West towards Nevada City (45 Miles) (1PM)
- Stop in Nevada City for a quick break, or continue on to In-n-Out which is 30 more miles.
- Nevada City is 45 miles from Downieville, we should be there around 1PM.
- At SR-20/SR-49 Exit, continue South on SR-49
- Stop at the In-n-Out for lunch. (a double-double, animal style)
- We expect to arrive between 1:30 and 2:15PM, 170 Miles total.
- The In-n-Out (map) is located at the junction of I-80 and SR-49 at 120 Grass Valley Hwy (SR49)
- We will depart from the In-n-Out at 3:30PM
- Participants will either return back to Reno via I-80 or continue on for more riding as we wind our way back to Reno via South Lake Tahoe.
