Captain Morgan, Hope you get it all fixed up. I'm looking forward to some summer riding. The end of February will probably be quite warm and we'll see an early spring. I'll also be getting the golf clubs out soon! Al

Lots of crazy stuff going on in the world right not. Still haven't made my mind up one way or another.
On another note: Anyone do any riding in that unseasonably warm weather? Cant really ski, but perfect weather for a few short trips!

Lee, Say What?? This weather is freaky, haven't you noticed? I know we shouldn't talk about this topic here but the climate really is in crisis although the Heritage Foundation and the Marshall Institute (get payola from Big Oil) are trying their darndest to confuse everyone. Here are some facts: Global avg. temps over the past 100 yrs. have inc. about 0.9 C. Winter temps are inc. faster than summer temps. Night time temps are inc. faster than day time temps. The troposphere is heating and has expanded while the stratosphere has cooled. How do you explain these facts without invoking IR absorption of CO2? Also, how do explain drop in ocean's pH? Most climatologist are now convinced that IPCC report of 2007 has signific. underestimated sensitivity of climate sys. We have about 10 years to clean up mess and hold CO2 to 450 ppm. If we do not then Midwest will see dust bowlification like 30s perhaps much worse. New MIT study makes our choices and the risks clear. Our present A2 (business as usual) course means significant and permanent climate change which will have severe consequences for our descendants (7-8 C inc. in 90 years). Corn and most crops grow best at about 70F (21C). Last year Tx suffered over 5 billion in lost crops, feed, property, and cattle due to drought and high temps. Last year was the hotest La Nina year ever recorded and here in US there were 12 weather related disasters adding up to 54 billion in damages. Google BEST study to learn more. Later, Al

Al..... Are you smoking some desertification ? Although that sounds interesting .

Weather has been rather odd lately. Very dry w/ near record warmth and virtually no preciptation at altitude. Hadley cell may have made a permanent move north by 2 degrees latitude. Jet stream oscillation also extreme and perhaps now will show greater amplitude which could spell the beginning of a desertification many climatologist have feared. It will be great for cycling but not so great for agriculture or health of western forests.
